A highlight for the Institut Pasteur scientific community
Since 2013, Institut Pasteur has organized an annual ceremony celebrating PhD students who have defended their doctoral thesis during the year. The event marks the culmination of their doctoral journey and their entry into the Institut Pasteur alumni community.
Both formal and convivial, the ceremony brings together Institut Pasteur staff, graduates’ family and friends, and representatives of partner organizations.
A scientific and celebratory event
Each ceremony begins with a keynote lecture by a guest of honor, focusing on scientific research, the process of discovery or the guest’s own career and experience.
The new graduates are then invited on stage to receive their Institut Pasteur certificate. Some also share their research experience through short presentations.
The ceremony concludes with a convivial reception bringing together graduates, families, colleagues and members of the Pasteur community.
The ceremony can also be attended online.
