Research Internships and Immersion Programs

Each year, the Institut Pasteur welcomes middle school students, high school students, and university students to its laboratories for research internships and immersion programs. These experiences offer a unique opportunity to discover the world of scientific research from within an internationally recognized research environment, working alongside Institut Pasteur research teams.

A progressive introduction to research

From middle school through higher education, a range of programs allows learners to experience scientific research firsthand, whatever their level of experience.

  • Middle School Students (Grade 9)

    Collège 3 Program

    An introductory work experience placement that gives students their first insight into the world of scientific research. Participants discover research careers and learn how an internationally renowned research institute operates.

    A more immersive program in which pairs of middle and high school students take part in a real research project under the supervision of Institut Pasteur scientists.

    Research Internships

    The Institut Pasteur welcomes students pursuing degrees in the life and health sciences for supervised research internships within its laboratories. These experiences provide hands-on training in experimental methods while introducing students to a world-class research environment. Students may also submit a spontaneous application by contacting a research unit whose scientific interests match their own.
