Description
Bioimage Analysis is a multidisciplinary field that integrates biology, computer science, and mathematics to extract, process, and interpret information from biological images. By leveraging advanced tools and techniques, researchers can quantify and visualize biological data, enabling deeper insights into complex biological processes from microscopy images.
The Pasteur course "Advanced Bioimage Analysis with Artificial Intelligence (AI)" provides a strong foundation in bioimage analysis, emphasizing practical applications while focusing on AI techniques—though not exclusively. In 2026, the course will prioritize Early Career Investigators, with a maximum enrollment of 35 participants.
The Early Career Investigators track is designed for biologists and researchers with limited or no prior experience in image analysis. This track will guide participants from the fundamentals—such as installing and using common software like Fiji, Icy, QuPath, Napari, Ilastik, and TrackMate—to constructing their own analysis pipelines. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to use, modify, and run scripts and notebooks for batch processing and advanced analysis.
The course features hands-on, interactive lectures and practical sessions, fostering collaboration between students and instructors in an engaging learning environment.
