The PARC (Pasteur Aging Research Center) will focus on finding solutions for aging related challenges, developing innovative projects ranging from biomedical research to humanities and social sciences.
The PARC will develop scientific collaborations with other initiatives such as the Planetary Health Innovation Center (PHIC) announced in October 2023, between the Institut Pasteur and The University of Tokyo. The PHIC is a transverse innovation center focused on finding solutions to mitigate the impact of human activity on our planet’s ecosystems and will play a pivotal role in bringing together French and Japanese health innovation stakeholders.
The PARC will also interact with the two existing Pasteur International Units between the Ecology and Emergence of Arthropod-borne Pathogens research unit of the Institut Pasteur and the Center for Genomic Medicine, Kyoto University, as well as the Stem Cells and Development research unit of the Institut Pasteur and the Institute of Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi) of Kyoto University.
As Professor Cole states: “I am convinced that this important collaboration with Kyoto University will enable the Institut Pasteur to develop cutting-edge scientific research projects in major fields such as aging for the benefit of populations around the world”.
